Bill is a graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 1973, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History/Political Science Education summa cum laude. He secured his J.D. from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas in 1976. Mr. Gusenius has been very active in the Lindsborg business community. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bethany College, President of the Lindsborg Chamber of Commerce and Lindsborg Rotary Club, and also on the Board of the Lindsborg Community Hospital. In his professional career, he has served as Lindsborg City Attorney for more than 30 years and has also served on the Kansas Bar Association Real Estate Title Standards Committee and the Kansas Ninth Judicial District Nominating Commission. Bill is currently serving on the
Board of Directors of Columbia Mutual Insurance Company of  Columbia, Missouri. He is also a Director of the Swedish Council of America, a national non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of Swedish culture and education in North America, with headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Bill has been married to his wife, Carol, for 44 years, and they have a daughter and son. Beth resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota and works for the Minnesota Board of Law Examiners. Mikkel and his wife, Heidi, reside in Minnetrista, Minnesota, where he works as an investment banker, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. Mikkel & Heidi currently have one son, Rylan, who is 6 years old and a daughter, Mari, who is 3. Bill and Carol enjoy travel, reading, music (both listening and performing) and Bill enjoys playing golf.
